Learning Center

It is the goal of Zion Lutheran Church to offer our Learning Center as an outreach of ministry and service to the community.  It is the purpose of the Zion Lutheran Learning Center to share the Good News of Jesus with its students and their families, faculty and staff, congregation and community.  It is our desire to provide our students with a Christ-centered, safe, nurturing, caring, and developmentally appropriate environment, where they may grow academically, physically, socially, spiritually, and morally.  As we prepare our students for success in kindergarten and in life, they will learn Christian teaching, language arts, social studies, mathematics, natural sciences, the arts, and computers.  Students will develop their linguistic competence, interpersonal skills, and gross and fine motor abilities as they explore God's world.  Teaching and learning will reflect students' age and intellectual and emotional maturity.

Learning Center Graduation

Program Requirements

  • Students two (2) years old to Pre-Kindergarten by August 1 of the current school year
  • Students need NOT be potty-trained
  • All students must produce proof of vaccinations
  • Students and their families must attend an orientation with the faculty prior to the beginning of the school year

Zion will not discriminate in its admissions policies and does not require congregational membership for participation in its Learning Center program.

All students will participate in a full range of educational and developmental activities as they interact with each other, with adults, and with God's world.  As Zion builds on its past, it also looks to the future.  Highlights of our program include the "Christian difference" and regular computer instruction.

The program will essentially follow the lead of the Valley Park School District in regard to snow days.  A precise calendar will be given to families upon enrollment.

Parent-teacher conferences will be held twice annually, in October and again in the spring.
